Update on Meningitis Vaccinations
Following recent reports of a meningitis outbreak in Kent, we have seen an increase in enquiries regarding meningococcal vaccinations, particularly the MenB vaccine. We completely understand why this situation may cause concern and want to reassure our patients that we are here to provide clear guidance and support.
MenB Vaccination
At present, the MenB vaccination is only available through the NHS programme for children up to the age of 2. Unfortunately, patients over the age of 2 are not currently eligible to receive the MenB vaccine through our practice.

MenACWY Vaccination
For older children, the MenACWY vaccine continues to be offered routinely to those aged 14–15 as part of the school-based vaccination programme. In addition, we will be hosting catch-up MenACWY clinics over the Easter holidays for those who may have missed their vaccination. Invitations will be sent to eligible patients in the next few days.
